Something of a sleepy backwater, it is surrounded by traditional farm meadows and picturesque pastures and fells. The traditional market town of Kirkby Stephen, once home to cotton mills and a large manufacturer of shoes and woollen hats today hosts a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs for every taste and budget. Enjoy many excellent walks and cycle routes nearby, explore the magnificent Howgill Fells or visit the Settle to Carlisle railway line. A superb location with the whole of the mystical Lake District National Park and the stunning Yorkshire Dales at your fingertips.

An outstanding, stone barn conversion, situated on the outskirts of the village of Soulby. This single storey, eco friendly property is stylishly decorated & boasts geothermal underfloor heating & original beams. Surrounded by open countryside, Rainbow Cottage enjoys beautiful views & excellent walking & cycling along the river & across the nearby wood & wetlands. Soulby is surrounded by traditional farm meadows. Nearby the market town of Kirkby Stephen offers shops, restaurants & pubs, while the Settle to Carlisle railway line, the Howgill Fells & the majestic Pendragon Castle are all within easy reach. Note: This property can be booked with ref. 2381 (located across courtyard) to accommodate up to 14 people.

All ground floor: Three bedrooms: 1 x family room with twin beds (zip & link - can be made into double on request) & single bed with pull out stacker bed, 1 x double with ensuite (shower cubicle, basin & WC), 1 x twin (zip & link - can be made into double on request). Bathroom with disabled access, bath, separate walk-in shower cubicle, basin & WC. Spacious, fitted kitchen/diner. Sitting room with gas flame-effect stove. Shared games room with table tennis.

Geothermal underfloor heating, gas flame-effect stove. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, colour TV with freeview, DVD, CD/radio. Library of books/games. All fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Cot & highchair on request. Off road parking for 5 cars. Patio & courtyard with furniture & BBQ. 2 dogs welcome. Horses welcome by arrangement with owners. Sorry, no smoking. Shop & pub 2.5 miles. Note: Water provided from local borehole.
